LET’S PLAY BALL!
The All Saints’ Men’s softball team is looking for a few good men. The team
will begin playing games on Tuesday nights around the middle of March. If
you are interested in playing and would like to join the team, please

PYSANKY CLASS TO BE OFFERED AT ALL SAINTS’
In March we will offer a Pysanky (Ukrainian egg) class for beginners.
Anyone ages 12 to 100 is welcome to come and complete one or two decorated
eggs. The class will be held Wed. March 7, 6:00 to 8:30 in the Conference
Room. All materials will be provided. The fee is $25, with all profits
going to benefit the Abbot Library. The class will be limited to 12 people.

GUILD OF THE CHRIST CHILD
Have you always wondered what goes on in the “Atrium?” Do you even know
where the Atrium is located? Or, do you just need a break and want to hang
out with other mothers in the church? Join us on Monday, March 12 at 6:30
P.M. where Guild of the Christ Child will host Stephanie Diethelm, director
of children’s formation at All Saints’. Stephanie will give us a tour of
the Atrium and lead a discussion on “Talking to Your Children About God.” We
always welcome new members or moms who just find this particular topic

COUPLES ENRICHMENT CLASS
Beginning Wednesday, February 29 during Adult Programming at Oasis
(6:30-7:30) couples will gather to discuss the theology of marriage using
scripture and practical resources which include: Seven Principles for Making
Marriage Work by John Gottman.

ALL SAINTS’ BOOK CLUB
The All Saints’ Book Group will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25th at the home of Diana Brooks. We will be discussing the book, The Forgotten Garden, by Kate Morton. All are welcome.
GUMBO GALA SEEKS TEAMS FOR JUNE 23 COOKOFF
How good is your gumbo? You can find out on Saturday, June 23 at Episcopal Place’s Seventh Annual fundraiser, Gumbo Gala. The hunt is on again for backyard cooks and professional chefs who make the best gumbo in Birmingham. Forty teams are expected to gather at the event’s new venue, Sloss Furnaces, to cook and serve gumbo and compete for ten awards. The top award among professional teams will be the title for “Best Gumbo in Birmingham”. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in the backyard cooks division, along with trophies for three specialty categories and for the “Spirit” and “People’s Choice” awards. Teams from Episcopal organizations will be eligible for the “Most Divine Gumbo” award, which was won last year by the All Saints’ team of Buddy Bland and Butch Williams. The team fee is $300. Gumbo cook-off teams are asked to prepare five to seven gallons of gumbo to serve at the event. EPISCOPAL CHURCH 101
Everyone is invited to Episcopal Church 101 in the Blue Door Room, especially those seeking Confirmation in the Episcopal Church. We will cover a broad range of historical, theological, and liturgical topics to orient you to the faith, history, and mission of our church. Lenten Offering Box
During the Lenten season, set aside a monetary offering to be collected for contributions to the Diocese of Alabama Tornado Relief Fund. The offering will be collected on Easter morning at the bottom of the Easter Cross. A mite box may be picked up in the hallway by the atrium sign-in table.
Newcomer Coffee - March 25
New members and visitors are invited to join us in the library for coffee, doughnuts & fellowship at 10 AM. Please introduce yourselves to us so we can make you feel more welcome and we’ll answer any questions you have as well! Please contact Rev. Jack Alvey for more info.
4th Sunday Food Drive - March 25

THIRD THURSDAYS
The Young Adults host a bible study on the Third Thursday of each month. The
study focuses on contemporary issues and our faithful response to them. The
next meeting will be held in the Conference Room on March 15 at the church

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY LENTEN BUILD
Once again this year All Saints’ will participate in the Habitat for
Humanity “Building on Faith” during Lent. Our Saturday work day will be on
March 3rd, so please hold the day on your calendar. This is the second
weekend of the construction schedule, so we will be working on wall and roof
construction and related activities. We’ll get out a signup sheet soon. In

Women, Food & God
Calling all women of the church! Do you wonder about your relationship with
food and what that has to do with your spiritual life? Do you wonder about
how to live the Christian life in the abundance of our culture? Have you
ever dieted to lose weight, only to gain it back again? Do we have too much
to eat? You are invited to a discussion of these questions led by Glenda
Curry and Anna Russell Friedman. Our class will meet for six sessions on
Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Jackson-Thorpe Room.
Artists’ Group
Calling all artists who would like to be a part of our All Saints’ Artists’
Group! Please join us to share ideas about an upcoming project and a potluck
meal at the home of Adelaide Booth on March 9th at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a

Annual Planning Retreat will be held April 13-15 on Lake Martin at the home

Are you…a busy mom or grand-mom a busy volunteer or just a busy WOMAN
juggling lots of balls in the air at once? Then, please join us on for the
next church-wide women’s only event sponsored by the ECW. Our own Barbara
Messick will help us learn to balance our balloons by organizing our:
personal time, family, home, activities/friends, and faith. Dessert, drinks
and fellowship provided. Plus great door prizes for some lucky winners!
Registration not necessary, but helpful in our planning. You may RSVP by
