Our Nursery Program

Ages 6 weeks – 3 years

The All Saints’ nursery provides a safe, caring environment for children to play interactively, read stories and work with developmentally appropriate activities. On Sunday Mornings nursery care is available for children ages six weeks through three years. Care is provided by professional nursery staff. We provide a snack and ask that you bring a sippy cup with your drink of choice, diapers, wipes and an extra change of clothes that are all clearly labeled.

Please register your child at the nursery sign-in table, which is located on the preschool level near the King Garden. You will sign in your child and be given a three-part security tag.  One sticker is filled out by the parent, placed on your child’s back and lets the staff know of any allergies or special needs.  The other sticker goes on your child’s bag, and the third part of the sticker is for you to show the nursery staff upon picking up your child.  You may either pick up your child before communion so they may take part in the service or at the conclusion of Eucharist.

When is the nursery open?

Sunday Morning: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Wednesday Nights*: 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. *The nursery will only be open on February 10 (Ash Wednesday), February 17th, February 24th, March 2nd, March 9th, and March 17th   for the Lenten Preaching/Lecture Series in the Nave.

“Children’s Liturgy”

Who: Ages 3 years – 6 years

Where: Room 109

When: This Class is open for play on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Children’s Liturgy of the word takes place at 11:00 am.

Children are invited to come to Room 109 for supervised play with children 3-6 years of age.  Trained nursery workers supervise the class.  This classroom is open primarily for children who are not old enough (didn’t turn three before August 16, 2015) to attend an atrium session (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd)  or arrived too late to attend an atrium session (after 8:45 AM or 10:15 AM).

Please sign in on the Sign-In Sheet at the Nursery Sign in Table.  Being potty trained is encouraged since there is not a changing table in this class.

11:00 a.m. Children’s Liturgy of the Word (Children’s Church)

Who:  Children 3*-6 years old

*Children’s Liturgy is offered for children as soon as they are 3 years old and are potty-trained.  It is also offered for children who are 4, 5, and 6 years old and do not wish to attend an atrium session (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd).

What:  Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a children’s prayer service modeled from the Book of Common Prayer. Children are guided in praying a Collect, reflecting on the Sunday Lectionary reading, collecting an Offering, Exchanging the Peace, and singing.

Where:  Sunshine Room (Room 109 on the first floor near the Nursery sign-in table)

When:  Sunday from 11:00 AM** until children process into church to join their parent(s) during the Offertory.

Please note: Atrium will meet on Palm Sunday.  The Liturgy of the Light for 3-6 year olds will begin in the Sunshine Room at 9:00 and 11:00 on Easter Sunday.

Children will process into church prior to Holy Communion and join their parents during the church service.

**Childcare for children 3-6 years old is offered in the Sunshine Room (Room 109) during the 8:45 service, during 10:00 Adult Formation (Sunday School), and before/after 11:00 Children’s Liturgy.  Parents have the option of having their children join them in church during the Offertory or staying in the Sunshine Room until they pick them up following the 11:00 service.  This can be noted on the Sign-In Sheet.  It is also open for children ages 3-6 who arrive too late (after 8:45 or after 10:15) to attend an atrium session (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd). Entering the atria late can be unsettling to the arriving child and a distraction to the children receiving lessons.
