Wednesday Night: Oasis

From fall throughout the spring we offer a weekly program on Wednesday nights called Oasis. This program offers supper, opportunities for fellowship, and Christian formation for the whole family.

Offerings may be traditional or untraditional; similar to things we have done in the past as well as new classes, all set in an informal setting that encourages rejuvenation and growth.

The evening begins with Children’s choir while the adults have time for fellowship and an opportunity to slow down from the busy pace of the day. Supper is offered, and then programs are available for all ages. The nursery is open for children ages six weeks – three years, the atrium is open for children aged three – 6th grade. Youth in grades 7-12 meet in the youth rooms upstairs for a short devotional and recreation. This fall adults can choose from the vocation class, the music jam, or can participate in the adult choir that rehearses in the choir room.

The choir loves to sing together, fellowship together and most importantly serve God together. We are made up of and welcome a wide range of musical abilities. We sing a broad spectrum of beautiful traditional church music anthems and also include an occasional Choral Evensong and major work with orchestra during the year.

Choir Programs for Youth

Do you have a child who loves to sing? All children ages three and up are invited to serve God in His church by offering special music for some of our services throughout the year.

The Good Shepherd Choir is for children ages 3-6 and meets Wednesday evenings from 6:15-6:30 p.m. in the choir room. During this brief time we will joyfully sing and dance as we learn new songs, with a focus on a love of music rather than performance. Children will be exposed to instrument play, correct singing technique, and will work toward basic music competence. The children will sing choral introits before the 11:00 service a few times a year, as well as present special music for a lessons and carols service in December.

The All Saints’ Children’s Choir is for boys and girls in grades 2-7 and meets Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 p.m. in the choir room. We will sing more challenging pieces, focusing on good technique and
basic musicianship skills. This group will have some special outings this year, including a caroling party in December and a concert in the spring, and we present a musical every other year. The Children’s Choir sings about one Sunday a month during the school year and will present special music for a lessons and carols service in December.

A new group, the Youth Ensemble, begins this fall. This group is for youth in grades 8-12 who sing or play an instrument. They will meet on Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the second youth room to practice music the group will play 5-6 times a year at the 5:30 service. Voice, guitar, keyboard or any other instruments are welcome, at any ability!

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Atrium begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 7:50 p.m.
Level 1: 3yr-K : Meet in Level 1 Atrium, the Atrium of the Good Shepherd
Level 2/3: 1st – 6th grades: Meet in Level 2 Atrium, the Atrium of the True Vine
On Wednesday nights, Levels 2 & 3 will combine. If the group becomes too large, they will separate.

Youth

We hear a lot these days about how kids are stressed out by their schedules; there are too many activities in too few days. At All Saints’ we believe it is important to provide opportunities for our kids to slow down, and to encourage them take time to reflect on their lives and on God’s purpose for them. Weekday gatherings for prayer present youth with a break in the week guaranteed to recharge them.

Feed My Sheep

January 11 – February 15
Location: Nave or Great Hall

The Evangelism and Outreach Commission at All Saints’ is proud to present to you an Epiphany lecture series entitled “Feed My Sheep.” The words “feed my sheep” are taken from the response that Jesus made to his disciples in a post-resurrection appearance after Jesus asked Peter “Do you love me?” This group of speakers is a reflection of what are doing today in the context of Jesus’ command to feed his sheep. We have invited a diverse group of speakers to highlight the many different ways in which we are called to feed Christ’s sheep. We hope and pray that you too may find where your passion
for ministry meets the world’s need to be fed.

Stories of the Resurrection

April 11 – May 16
Facilitators: Clergy
Location: Great Hall or Conference Room

During the Great 50 Days of Easter, parishioners from All Saints’ will share stories of resurrection. As a church, we point to the resurrection of Christ as the sure and present hope of the life to come. Each presenter will reveal how the hope of this new life has been made available through the riches and grace of God in Christ. As we look to the eventual merger of heaven and earth, we invite you to find
a little bit of heaven on earth through stories of resurrection.
